Jesse Elliot will release his debut album “I Gave You My All,” in June of 2015, featuring lead guitarist Jim McGee, bassist Ed Pratico, rhythm guitarist Brian Spitz, pianist Luke Elliot, and drummer Frank Lettieri. This exciting, fresh, creative, gritty, arousing, piece of mastery from Jesse Elliot and his friends is awesome! When it rocks it really rocks as in the opener, “Really Good To Be Alone”. But there is great depth and range to virtually all the music here. The confessional sense of “I Don’t’ Need A Reason” is heartfelt and moving.

Elliot pretty much comes out swinging and does not let down for the first 5 tracks at least. “Gotta Get Over You” and “I Only Have These Chords” play perfect testimony to his crunchy guitar-driven alternative rock style.

jesse-elliot-coverIn fact the first half of the album supplies a muscular, punchy sonic exploration of Elliot’s rocking influences, showcasing a rugged production style that melds many of Elliot’s more raucous vocals with the hard-driving guitars of Jim McGee and Brian Spitz.

The second half of the album courts Jesse Elliot’s acoustic-influenced, smoldering singer-songwriter instincts. Where more gentle melodies like “I Can’t Live Without Her”, “She’s All I’m Thinking Of” and “With That (I Love You)”, spring to the fore.

Music often says things that we don’t always say in our day-to-day existence, and that is why it is such a powerful force. Music is not only exciting to connect with, but often the lyrics can resonate with you psychologically. The crossover, singer-songwriter and rock styles that Jesse Elliot and his band crafts on “I Gave You My All,” can be mind-altering; especially as the varying moods arrive rather unexpectedly in the midst of something else. For example, straight after the mellow “Can’t Live Without Her”, and right before the acoustic-guitar picking of “She’s All I’m Thinking Of”, you’ll find the bellowing psychedelic rock sound of “Really Good To Be Alone”.

jesse-elliot-400“I Gave You My All”, is a compelling and engaging recording from a dynamic artist who crosses musical boundaries, back and forth, and sometimes even in the same song. Jesse Elliot can be a righteous and rocking songwriter who goes for the throat with impressive results. Yet at the same time, if he needs to slip into your heart through the back door, quietly and gently, he will!

There is a sense of urgency in many of the songs, while Elliot’s vocals are chilling in the way they cut to the core of emotion and yet comforting in the way they sound so familiar. This album was instantly likable for me and has only gone up from there. Jesse Elliot is also an effective lyricist and that comes through loud and clear across every track.

All-round, “I Gave You My All”, is powerful work on any level, where Jesse Elliot, together with his solid backing band, expresses himself musically and lyrically and that’s a damn good way to kick off a debut!

“I Gave You My All,” will be officially released on June 13, 2015.
