KiD Blitz was born in Augusta, Georgia and raised all over the world due to the fact that his parents are military. The Caribbean-American (Haitian and Trinidadian) has a unique style that he calls Hip-Hop-Pop-Soca-Kompa-Dance music. After years of rapping and singing in duos, bands, choirs and in musicals KiD Blitz decided to record a few songs while his dad was in Afghanistan and surprised him, this is also about the time he start producing beats.

Several years afterward, KiD Blitz released his first EP, START OF THE STORM. His second EP, CAYENNE THE MIXTAPE he got thousands of listen and downloads. Then came the even more successful, CAYENNE REHEATED, which was recorded in 3 countries and featured Pierre Fontaine from FreshMind as executive producer alongside KiD Blitz who also assisted with the production.

kidblitz-brooklyn-cover“Thought you were from Brooklyn” is KiD Blitz’s latest mixtape. It has all classic Brooklyn beats and covers the subjects that enter KiD Blitz’s First semester in college in Brooklyn. KiD Blitz’s has hit us with a kind of concept mixtape which usually hurts careers more than it helps, and pulls it off with flying colors. The tracks are generally hard hitting with lyrics that pierce, cut and sting, together with typical FreshMind productions.

Being a 10-track mixtape, there is no space for filler tracks on “Thought you were from Brooklyn”. KiD Blitz himself is in top form, his flow is as crazy as ever and his lyrics are tongue twistingly fantastic. When paired up with the eclectic productions, things get crazy, as beats and lyrical flow feed off of each other’s energy, with both turning in great performances!

KiD Blitz is a true original, his bizarre delivery and deliberately fractured flows put him in a class of his own. There are no other emcees that sound like him. Though his confident vocal pyrotechnics will compensate, KiD Blitz never neglects his thoughtful writing. Some of is rhymes could compete with the best in the business.

The thing about KiD Blitz that makes him so great is the flow of the way he brings the music to you and the wonderful and creative beats he uses in his compositions.  Every single song is unique and each has a strong Brooklyn flavor. KiD Blitz keeps you nodding through his songs, of which the pick of the bunch for me are; “Hot Kidd”, “Dead Right”, “The Blast”,“ Get Money” and “Uber Top”.

KiD Blitz’s unique songwriting grooves shine forth in their smooth, clever and sometimes rather humorous jives on “Thought you were from Brooklyn”. By means of sound and production he has declared a highly expansive status as a phenomenal chameleon of creative hip-hop!
