“OUT OF MY HOUSE” occupies a wide sonic range.
After knocking us out, almost 6 months ago with his Beatport hit, “ANUBIS”, featuring the Brazilian duo PRESSKIT, Belgian born Dj-Producer Mark Ursa aka Marc Vandersmissen, is back with another electro club banger – “OUT OF MY HOUSE”!
Mark Ursa soon caught the house virus and in the early 2000’s when he started to release tracks under the names “Pornstar Deluxe”, “Mark Ursa” and “Art D’echo”, and moved to Ibiza where he started his career of DJ. His first recorded success was the single “Welcome to Ibiza”, exclusively distributed on the Balearic Island which was played by all during that summer. It was also the first time a Belgium DJ got a resident party in Ibiza. Since 2006, Mark Ursa has shared his time between Brazil and Ibiza. He plays in all the super-clubs and festivals around the world including a residency at Mark’s Attack parties at Privilege and Space Ibiza, and at the “Bloco Yes” in Brazil.
If you love uplifting electronic dance music this is your artist. Mark takes dance music to another level not the same old rhythms and sounds you may be used to either. “OUT OF MY HOUSE” features a whistling sequence in the breaks that is as classic sounding as that of the legendary “For A Few Dollars More” theme-song.
On this, Mark Ursa delivers a slick, urban, beat-heavy sound, with phat drops and interestingly creative breaks. He then dresses this up with banging snares drums and soaring synths…and the occasional; “get the fuck out of my house!” rant.
Normal dance tracks pick a thing and stick with that thing to the point of tedium. I was expecting something similar; however, Mark’s production creativity is all over the place. The song bounces around, shining in its own way and never leaving you bored.
“OUT OF MY HOUSE” occupies a wide sonic range while still keeping competing sounds cleanly separated and in their own spaces. Mark Ursa once again proves he has top-notch production and is capable of innovating and improving his unique style on each subsequent release.
