The young, but accomplished singer-songwriter Daniel Landers is a prolific songwriter with more than 70 songs in his catalog, and fans all across the globe. His original music which showcases the depth and maturity that blends into his youthful Rock-Pop style together with the lyrics reflect his personality – soulful and edgy.
At the age of four, Daniel made his debut in Hollywood, CA, when he toured with the hit musical PBS TV and stage show, The Huggabug Club, and by age 11, he had formed his own band and began writing songs. Daniel competed in the finals of Europe’s XFACTOR in the Netherlands, choosing to come home to graduate high school and focus on his music, and studies in the U.S.
“Love Me Tonight” is the first single from his soon- to- be-released self-penned album and is backed up by an intensely poignant supporting video which is available for viewing on YouTube. We reviewed the single a couple of weeks back and were amazed by this young dude’s artistic talent.
The song (and video) by Daniel shows how much he has matured and progressed as a solo artist since his first releases. Looking back on his catalog, you cannot help but notice how he has gone from strength to strength. To be honest, some of his earlier songs, though solid and catchy, were too ‘adolescent’ sounding for my personal taste, but on “Love Me Tonight” Daniel has come full circle with a very ‘mature’ pop sound. This may seem obvious, as the kid has now grown into a young man, but I can remember many other artists who took a very long while before maturing to this level.
Daniel’s voice shines throughout the entire song and in certain sections is totally exceptional. He has always had a great voice but now it has even more depth and wistful timbre. “Love Me Tonight” is a song full of emotion and displays all of what I feel Daniel is capable of doing right now. Not a lot of guys are able to put love into words convincingly, but Daniel succeeds with passionate grace on this track. Confirming that he is a true talent and growing better every day.
From the minute I watched the music video, I couldn’t stop playing it continuously, because it’s amazing. The cinematographer John Rusnak, has captured the essence of the song, and Daniel’s state of being, during the recorded performance, perfectly. This adds extra pathos to an already deeply emotional song, making it very difficult to tear your eyes from the screen.
This single is just a part of Daniel’s music evolving. He keeps stepping it up with each release. What I love about him is that he seems to do this because he was born to entertain, and listening to the musical arrangements, he obviously works very hard to bring people his heart felt music.
