Multi-talented singer-songwriter and musician, Jamie Beeman has already performed at several music venues and events throughout North America, including all three of the famous House of Blues – Hollywood, San Diego and Disney Walk Anaheim. She has been a regular at the L.A. County Fair and Dodger Stadium and has opened for Sean Kingston in Canada during the Canadian music festival.
Even though still at a very young age, I believe on each release Jamie Beeman has grown more mature and more intimate in her deliveries. In fact her growth has been nothing short of spectacular since her 2010, 12-track “Jamie Beeman” album, or the 2012 fun single “California Sun”, up until her latest single, “Rain”.
She’s moved from catchy, sometimes teenage orientated pop songs, onto songs with meaning that are accompanied by the sensation of sincerity she manages to portray through her deliciously wide-ranged voice, which adds to the impact and connection she has on the listener.
In a word, Jamie Beeman has moved from ‘catchy’ to ‘captivating’. I think we need only be patient while we wait to hear the immense artistry that will undeniably come from her maturity – personally, lyrically, and vocally – in future years.
In the meantime Jamie is well on her way to solidifying her following and certifying her ambition with “Rain”. She is talented, she is versatile, she can write, she can sing and she is definitely moving towards adult contemporary, alongside the A-League of female singer-songwriters.
Jamie Beeman is irresistible because her songs are melodic and radio friendly, “I’m Not Gonna Cry” plays perfect evidence to this, while she herself appears fan-friendly. Add that to her rich vocals, full of emotional inflection, and her music, which is always well-written and produced and you end up with a premium package that is just waiting to explode.
Everything Jamie does is just so clear, powerful, and full of emotion. The song, “Open My Eyes”, is another great example of what I’m talking about. Do I love every song she does? No. But I love most of them!
I also think Jamie is totally adorable, which I know might seem irrelevant. But it isn’t, just ask anyone who’s ever had the unenviable task of marketing a pop artist.
“Rain” , in its understated simplicity, is one of the most beautiful songs Jamie has done so far. You can hear the emotional maturity in her voice and artistic expression, as she comes through it better, stronger, and a more well-rounded artist. She sounds less obsessed with performing perfectly and more occupied with communicating properly; the mark of a great artist.
“Rain” is the perfect transition track from last year’s upbeat and catchy single “I’m Not Gonna Cry”, to what is surely to be one of her most fascinating periods artistically and personally, both as a growing woman and artist. It’s clear she is reaching toward her full potential and displays just how versatile her voice is. While her music is fun, heartfelt, and comforting.
With “Rain” Jamie Beeman ups the singer-songwriter aspect of her art and turns down the radio-ready emphasis a notch. It is a little less calculated and a little more comfortable than her previous releases. The result is unpretentious, honest and warm. Showing she has the natural talent and flair for mature song craft.
Jamie Beeman is still young, and she has a long career ahead of her. She is currently an entertainment business student at the Full Sail University and expected to graduate in the “Class of 2014”.
Without doubt, Jamie is the real deal – an artist from whom strong songs flow naturally. Simply put, if you’re a fan of her earlier works, you will love the growth value here!
