14 year old Asia Nicole Powell from Yulee, Florida began to show her talent around age 6 when she made herself noticeable by performing solos for family members and neighbors. Asia had a passion for singing and realized this was something she was born to do. In February of 2012 Asia started to pursue her dream and made her mark as a newcomer to the Industry in Deceember of the same year, when she won Atlanta’s Hottest Future Superstar under 18 award and The America Model Talent Search talent category.
In May 2013, Asia won the King Ryan Music Showcase where she was the only Kid/Teen Artist. Asia was a nominee for the 2013 Atlanta’s Entertainment Music Award for the Hottest Rising Superstar. She has also released two singles and is currently in the studio working on her EP. Asia is a member of the Clean Music Movement and will be on the 2014 Armed Forces No Bullying Tour.
Asia has just dropped her new single and music video, “Party Tonight”. Sugary, radio-friendly cuts like this single are pure polite, cutesy teen-R&B fare which are very difficult for the ear to ignore. To top it all, Asia is also a very cute, photogenic young girl, which just adds more spice to the sugar!
Does she deliver? You bet she does. And she does so, delivering through all the hype attached to her young age. She’s just a natural, throwing out her vocals to epic proportions, displaying her talent and range.
Her song and video performance is fun, upbeat yet mellow and easy on the ear, and her voice does have a nice kick and sweetness to it that makes the whole package very enjoyable indeed.
Asia is really melodic with her vocals, and sings with smooth sweetness. Be on the lookout for this upcoming artist, as she is on the verge of something new and fresh in the R&B/Pop scene!
