GRAMMY AWARD-WINNING SINGER SONGWRITER AND PRODUCER SAM POUNDS TEAMS UP WITH LEGENDARY SONGWRITER DIANE WARREN FOR NEW SOUL SINGLE “TALK ABOUT IT IN BED” WRITTEN BY DIANE WARREN
THE NEW TRACK ALSO FEATURES VOCALS FROM SOUL ICON BILLY VALENTINE
LOS ANGELES, CA — Fresh off the success of his recent single Arizona Rain, GRAMMY-winning singer, songwriter, and producer Sam Pounds returns with a powerful new release — “Talk About It In Bed” — a collaboration written by one of the most celebrated songwriters of all time, Diane Warren. An emotional soul track built on warm, lush strings, a full brass section, and classic amplified guitar, “Talk About It In Bed,” out via Virgin Records, evokes the timeless sound of R&B’s golden era. Pounds’ heartfelt performance channels the spirit of the great love songs that once ruled the Top 40 charts, delivering an authentic, feel-every-note experience.
The single also features a guest appearance from soul vocal legend Billy Valentine, whose credits include work with Ray Charles and the soundtrack for The Five Heartbeats. Valentine’s unmistakable tone intertwines seamlessly with Pounds’ rich vocals, adding depth and gravitas to the track.
“Working with Diane Warren was a dream,” said Pounds. “She has this unmatched ability to craft a song that feels like it’s been in your heart forever. And having Billy Valentine’s voice on it? That’s the soul icing on the cake.”
“Sam Pounds has a voice that stands with some of the best soul singers ever. I am excited about the single ‘Talk About It In Bed.’ It just sounds like an instant classic to me, the kind of song that people will slow dance to forever,” said songwriter Diane Warren.
Earlier this summer, Pounds unveiled the soaring single “Arizona Rain” and performed the song live for the first-time at his sold-out show at the legendary Whisky A Go Go in Los Angeles. He then took the stage at Nashville’s famed Whiskey Jam on Music Row, captivating both rock and country audiences with his genre-spanning sound. Now, with buzz continuing to build, Pounds is set to make his Grand Ole Opry debut later this month — solidifying his reputation as one of music’s most versatile and compelling new voices.

About Sam Pounds
Raised on stories, gospel music, and church in rural North Carolina, Sam Pounds began performing at five, urged by his Grandma Ruth. The son of a preacher, he played drums and sang in church, later studying audio production and playing basketball in college. Inspired by Prince, he spent many nights in a dorm lobby’s soundproof phone booth, honing his music production skills. Influenced by James Brown, Little Richard, and Lenny Kravitz, Pounds developed a unique rock/R&B blend he calls “rock and soul.” Feeling like a “vocal orphan,” he moved to Los Angeles, becoming an in-demand producer across various genres. He worked with Jamie Foxx, Snoop Dogg, and others, and in 2024, was recognized with a Grammy for his participation on Killer Mike’s album “Michael.” As an artist, Pounds held a residency at Black Rabbit Rose and played at hotspots like Delilah. His latest single “Motives” which is available to stream now, is the first track off of Pounds’ upcoming album which is set to feature collaborations with Foxx and legendary songwriter Diane Warren.
