Traveling back and forth from New York City to Istanbul, Impera is a DJ and production tandem made up of two talented brothers, hailing from Turkey. Joining forces in 2014, the duo are launching themselves within the Dance music scene with their unique take on EDM and Progressive House. After managing successful careers as solo artists, they decided to work together in widening their audience reach and setting the way to obtaining the very top spot within the electronic music industry.

Impera could’ve very easily gotten lost in the massive wave of electronic duos that made their way into our ears in recent years. Fortunately for them they are blessed with amazing studio and onboard prowess. They’re unique in a sea of many interesting but not necessarily long lasting electronic collectives. Their latest single “Get Up” is a rather breathtaking track filled with rough-around-the-edges synth riffs, a thumping electro drum groove and bass lines with an almost industrial harshness that make you think you were hearing something more than just electronic dance music.

The programming and studio expertise make the beat sound more than just cookie cutter loops run through some software plug-in. Right out of the gate “Get Up” comes roaring out of the speakers, all studio shine and spit-polished.  All the elements are there, popping and clicking. This sonic sphere simultaneously slams the ears and moves the body. The Impera duo continues to explore exciting directions in their music and it is immediately present here that they have grown immensely.

Impera are different from many EDM acts in a positive way and this title hones their craft to a new level. They have the same tools but have upped the level of refinement and sonic complexity on their tracks. There’s an energy and a passion that plays through the buildups and breakdowns which splits the body and soul apart and reintroduces them like long-lost lovers. The drop then turns this song into an intense, deep, rhythmic, and melodic explosion of sound. One piece of advice: When you listen to “Get Up” give it the most volume you can because hearing how much care and detail was put into the song makes it an experience.
