The “Letters” EP consists of the 4 stunning singles that were released at regular intervals during the last few months – “Letters(Written by Rosaye, Produced By Tim Carr), “Let Me Be” (Written By Rosaye, Produced by John Depth, Tim Carr and Paul Conrad Taylor, Co –Writer Paul Conrad Taylor) , “A Little Leads To More” (Written By Rosaye, Produced by John Depth, Tim Carr and Paul Conrad Taylor, Co –Writer Paul Conrad Taylor ) and “Secrets” (Written By Rosaye, Produced by John Depth, Tim Carr and Paul Conrad Taylor, Co –Writer Paul Conrad Taylor ).

On every release, each song further consolidated Rosaye’s immense talent and artistic growth, culminating in what can now be considered a 4-song sum-total of her musical sounds, symbols and colors, all filled with lyrical genius. It’s a real soulful collection of synth-pop gems that’s more nuanced and better crafted than most modern pop.

For the past decade, the term singer-songwriter has been liberally applied to hot young artists who rely on more experienced collaborators to hone their tunes, and to provide the savvy production that usually upstages the melody and lyrics of their songs. But for Rosaye, though collaborating with a talented artistic crew, storytelling still seriously matters; you just can’t fake the kind of innocence and wonder that ring through the glowing title track, “Letters” and the moonstruck single “A Little Leads To More”, or the candid urgency and upfront precociousness marking more bittersweet songs such as “Secrets” and “Let Me Be”.

“Letters” should catapult Rosaye to the top of the pop heap. It’s very nearly a flawless record, full of big-hearted anthems with catchy vocal melodies and resonating instrumentation, where Rosaye shows maturing in her writing and vocals while her preferred subject line remains relationships.

It is a common denominator throughout the songs on “Letters”, where she proves to be an extremely talented songwriter, managing to communicate the feelings that many people aren’t able to put into words. Rosaye is a real voice for a generation of young adult women, as she sings about topics relevant to what most of them would currently be dealing with and thinking of. Rosaye’s songwriting ability is second to none. And I believe she is going to continue to get better with age and experience.

It also helps that Rosaye has a voice one can listen to over and over again; she is able to sing in a silky, smooth voice and can turn gutsy on the spin of a single note. I love her breathy, pure and powerful delivery filled with grace and fluidity. At the end of the day, Rosaye’s voice and lyrics is what distances her from her pop peer group. She isn’t big on image, and won’t be leading teens and others to new trendy fads. What she does is continue to be herself and record amazing music.

When we are born, it’s like sitting at a poker table, as we eagerly wait to see the cards we will be dealt, and on which we hope to develop our future. Will we be attractive, beautiful on the inside and maybe have a special talent? Well, Rosaye has been dealt the trifecta!

And if you think that she is a big deal with the release of “Letters”, be prepared – she’s about to get way bigger!
