Sept. 2025Vanderwolf concludes his ambitious six part Singles Club project with the release of The Path of Love,” arriving Friday, September 26th. The track, which has taken the longest and most winding journey of all six songs, stands as a powerful meditation on the necessity of love in today’s fractured world. “The world is spiraling into a tragic hellscape…So…let’s sing a love song?” says Vanderwolf. “I don’t typically write love songs, but now, more than ever, we need to reintroduce love into the public discourse. The algorithm rewards hateful vitriol, love has no place in it. But in troubled times, love is an act of defiance.”

Originally written and recorded in London during the 2000s, The Path of Love” began as a lap steel guitar sketch in drummer and producer Chris Wyles’ Camberwell studio. With guitarist Chris Cordoba’s spontaneous opening verse and Victy Silva’s (Mick Ronson) layered choir vocals, the song carried an energy too earnest and outside the style of Vanderwolf’s then band Last Man Standing. It sat untouched on a hard drive for over a decade but never escaped his mind.

Revisiting the track for the Singles Club, Vanderwolf rebuilt its structure, balancing stripped back verses with expansive choral textures and a roaring instrumental section. The result is a genre defying blend that bridges his past London collaborators with his current Los

Angeles circle. The recording features Tim Sonnefeld on slide guitar and bass, and Charlie Paxon adding Indian percussion, creating what Vanderwolf describes as a “mystical, time traveling collaboration.”

Lyrically, the track distills into two powerful refrains: “Soon the Path of Love is here” and “Love is everyone, we’ve just begun.” For Vanderwolf, the song embodies love as a practice, a discipline, and a dharma, something to be continually renewed.

As the final offering in the Vanderwolf Singles Club, The Path of Love serves as a bittersweet send off to a creatively liberating project. Conceived to keep music flowing while Vanderwolf IV is in production, the Singles Club allowed him to dive deep into his archives and reimagine unfinished work. “I never expected I’d have to create video content for six consecutive singles,” Vanderwolf admits. “But working with Alden Volney and George Panagakos, we found ways to bring the music visually to life.”

While Vanderwolf still considers himself an “album guy,” the project challenged him to rethink his process in a singles driven culture. “The album is a dying artifact,” he reflects. “I’ll cling to it, but the Singles Club was a rewarding experiment and ‘The Path of Love’ feels like the right way to close this chapter.”

“The Path of Love” is available on all major streaming platforms since Friday, September 26, 2025.
