Jreasn is a driven, passionate and charismatic artist with a unique approach to his blend of hip-hop. His music is all about connecting with listeners through powerful hooks, trap-infused beats and, a thought-provoking sense of lyrical flow; not unlike influential performers such as Nas, J Dilla or Shad, just to mention a few. Underlying any great success or accomplishment is a story of a tenacious struggle, an unyielding drive, and a passion great enough to persevere, to strive. This sentiment rings true for Buffalo rap talent, JReasn.

Jreasn has recently dropped “The Love Hate Album”, featuring the lead single “That Way”. This is an EP laden with highlights. It is what hip hop should be, informative, makes you think, bring some important issues to light, and bang all the way through, while sounding good doing it.

The EP is mature and is pieced together with top notch production. Most importantly, Jreasn manages to bring you the story on his relationships and struggles in all of its glorious (and inglorious splendor), from a perspective of one who is looking from above, after having graduated to a higher plane.

This is a very difficult feat that many senior-level rappers have tried to do but come off as contrived or overly-acted. Moreover Jreasn shows here that he can tell a story with the best of them. Because that’s his major advantage over most other rappers: He can tell a story with almost savant-level poetic ability and make you feel like you’re in the scene, watching it all happen.

From when the album opens with “That Way” you are taken back to a time where lyricism meant something, and a strong beat meant something too. Jreasn’s insight is the central character as he weaves intricate stories of growth as well as the trials and tribulation with deep introspection and steady metered flow.

To top it all, “That Way” is plastered with a hook so catchy, it will take you all the way through summer. And that’s just the start, as “Girl To Love” will have you riding out to another funky beat. No doubt, Jreasn has completely unraveled the secret formula for making earth shaking bangers.

You can tell Jreasn is comfortable in his own style and not just doing whatever is the current flavor of the month all over the tracks. Lyrically he is a beast and really brings the emotion on this one. “Milk & Honey” and “The Love Hate” are good examples of his strong relationship with words.

Jreasn’s verses here create vivid pictures that linger long after the tracks have ended.  I can tell that he carefully selected each cut on this EP as the fluidity is very consistent. With the release of “The Love Hate Album”, Jreasn has proved that you can still put out a banging recording filled with quality in this day and age.
